Bat For Lashes Does David Letterman

Now, this performance could have gone horribly wrong...but Bat For Lashes AKA Natasha Khan pulled out an absolutely stunning performance.

The performance happened the night of May 1 and I know I am a little late on it but it is just too good not to share.

Likely Looks: Bat For Lashes - Daniel

Bat For Lashes is back as Natasha Khan emerges with the beautiful single "Daniel".

Channeling the Karate Kid on this one, Natasha Khan fights off loads of people draped in black sheets and then proceeds to hop in a car and still fight them off. You'll just have to see for yourself...

Bat For Lashes Live @ Bowery Ballroom

Before I headed over to see Kate Nash at Joe's Pub I decided at the last minute to see Bat For Lashes at Bowery Ballroom. I think it could have been one of the best decisions I have ever made it my life because I was so blown away.

Natasha Khan goes from one instrument to another with such grace...and that voice! That voice sent shivers down my spine for a straight hour as I watched in awe with silence so golden that a pin could drop and it would sound like a jackhammer.

Mostly everything was played for Fur and Gold and it sounded even better live then it does on album. When Sarah was played Natasha banged a stick on a huge wooden board contraption and combined with the bass drum it made the most magical sound. Even the hand claps when they played "Prescilla" sounded perfect.

I don't think I have ever been so converted in an hour. Welcome to the cult of Natasha Khan

Klaxons Win Mercury Music Prize

Klaxons beat out some pretty amazing acts to win the coveted Mercury Music Prize for Myths of the Near Future.

We all thought it would be Amy Winehouse or Bat For Lashes...but sometimes things don't always work in the odds favor.

In other news, Amy Winehouse did perform at the awards an acoustic version of "Love Is A Losing Game" and apparently sounded amazing.

Congrats to Klaxons!

Likely Looks: Bat For Lashes

I admit it: I was totally late in the game for Bat For Lashes. I kept on hearing the name, hearing hoe hot the singer was, what cool head apparel she wore, and her ghostly seductive voice. After I saw her on Thom York's iTunes celebrity playlist I became deeply disappointed with myself for being so out of the loop. So, now, I give you.... my Bat For Lashes post!

I was checking out Blender, and they have this great post on one of the better music video directors out right now, Dougal Wilson. He was the one who made the amazing Jarvis Cocker "Don't Let Him Waste Your Time" video. Now, he's worked with Miss Natasha Khan, the beauty and brains behind Bat For Lashes on her latest "What's A Girl To Do". The video bares more than a resemblance in look and feel (and characters) to Donnie Darko. In one full shut Natasha is riding her bike amongst suited demonic rabbits, passing my car crashes and woodland spooks. And it matches the song perfectly. Check it out here...
