I might be a little late in the game, but I am currently re-reading Please Kill Me and realized the following...how did David Johansen of the New York Dolls go from this:

I can't believe that the singer of the New York Dolls also sang the song that everyone danced/limboed to at bat/bar mitzvahs when I was a kid. Its also sort of amazing that he didn't lose his cred but maybe there is a deeper story to this that I don't know?
