Tori Amos is an artist that constantly has the ability to reinvent herself in a non Madonna way. She always approaches her shows with a certain kind of passion that embodies the personality of whatever album she is touring in support of.
Last Friday (October 12), Tori Amos did her second night in New York to a basically sold out audience. As usual, she changed her set list from the night before as well as came out as two different personalities from her album "American Doll Posse" (Santa and Tori). The set list was great, the crowd was fine but for some reason the show and I just didn't click like they usually do. Touring with the full band for Tori never works...she's a solo artist and her talent on the piano is just magical. Any other instruments just drown her out live and its not the organic, wholesome Tori that I am so used to loving live.
It made me a bit sad that I wasn't impressed (until of course she started doing some songs solo) but its still always a moving, fantastic experience to see Tori live. She still has plenty of dates on her current tour so I'd suggest catching one of them
