Its Not How Far You Fall, It’s The Way You Land...

Soulsavers are releasing their upcoming album Its Not How Far You Fall, It’s The Way You Land on April 2nd in the UK. With vocals provided on many of the tracks by Mark Lanegan, it caught my interest because as of lately, anything he puts his voice on I love.

This is not for a sunny day..its the perfect relaxed winter soundtrack and I love it.

Check out the Soulsavers MySpace page or their official site for more information

Paolo Nutini Makes Me Melt

You know I'm not usually one for the singer/songwriter type but I honestly cannot get enough of Paolo Nutini's record "These Streets" that was released today in the good ol' U.S. of A.

Its an absolute masterpiece...make sure to check him out.

Here is the video for "Jenny Don't Be Hasty":

Tomorrow he plays a sold out gig at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC...hopefully I will somehow make it to the gig and give you all a full report.

Lily Allen Could Snub the Brit Awards

Its been a whirlwind year for Lily but apparently she's not thinking so highly about the Brit Awards where she's been nominated in 4 categories. Since been bumped off to perform the event in favor of Amy Winehouse (who people call her rival but i personally think they have totally different vibes) she's thinking the award she was most likely tipped to wn, Best Female, isn't going to her anymore.

Hopefully Lily attends and brings home the awards...

The Good, The Bad and The Queen - Kingdon of Doom Video

The Good, The Bead and the Queen was a band I didn't even have to listen to before I knew I was going to love it. I've been so impressed with Damon's solo stuff that I'm OK with Blur never getting back together for a new record. Ok, maybe I am pushing it but I really really love TGTBATQ!

Razorlight's Drummer Wakes Up In A Pool of His Own Blood

While on tour in Europe, Razorlight's drummer, Andy Burrows woke up in a pool of his own blood. Needing several stitches in his elbow, the drummer has vowed to continue their tour.

A spokesperson for the band states, "Andy has no idea how it happened. He basically woke up in his hotel room to find himself in a pool of his own blood...He needed stitches in his elbow and he was in a lot of pain but he has vowed to carry on with Razorlight's European tour."

I find this a bit bizarre but its quite nice that he is going to be continuing. Stay tuned for US Razorlight dates in the next couple of days...

Klaxons Turn Down Supporting Muse At Wembley Stadium

Klaxons are mental...and have reportedly turned down a offer from Muse to be their supporting act at Wembley Stadium.

Jamie Reynolds told MTV, "It was the drummer who asked us. It was quite a drunken night down the pub and I just said, 'Nah'. I first saw them at Glastonbury and for them to say that [about one of our live shows] is a massive compliment."

Lily Allen Disses Madonna...Again!

The darling Lily Allen just can't keep her mouth shut...and I love her for it! This time around she's still got her sites set on Madonna for the second time.

In a recent interview Lily stated, "I never say anything unprovoked but an interviewer asked me who, in my opinion, was the most overrated pop star. And overrated for me is someone who sells a lot of records because of who they are. And I don't think people buy Madonna's records because they think they're really good."

Now, Lily...you are fucking with the wrong woman but I give you credit for standing up to Madge.

Don't forget to catch Lily on the Dicover and Download tour starting February 5th in Los Angeles!

The Who To Play Glastonbury?

The biggest UK festival is gearing up for a whole new lineup this year. Headliners are always thrown around until its formally announced (Kylie Minogue anyone?) but this year it seems to be The Who that have given the strongest hints that they are involved.

Pete Townshend says, "I don't know if we're allowed to say. But let me put it this way, I think they want us to do it, and we want to do it. So we shall see. I think it's about whether or not they'll give me space to park my tent."

The festival should also include the newly reformed Smashing Pumpkins (sans James Iha), The Killers and Razorlight.

Bez Makes A Workout Video

Bez's dance moves are so profound that he has been asked to make a fitness video based on his dance moves with his former band, the Happy Mondays.

An insider told Male First UK, "Bez has been swamped with offers. He's amazed. His old Happy Mondays pal Shaun Ryder has been poking fun at him because he only has two moves. But he's keen to make the most of the chance and accept an offer because he has so many money problems."

I need to own this video.

Ewam McGregor To Play...KURT COBAIN?

Apparently Ewan McGregor is the front runner to play Kurt Cobain in an upcoming film about the Nirvana front man.

According to an insider at The Daily Express: "A number of actors have been talked about the role but Ewan has emerged as the number one choice."

Hmmm...I wonder how thats going to go?!

Lily Allen To Play Webster Hall NYC

Lily Allen is back on the first ever MTV Discover and Download tour. So far, they've leaked a Webster Hall date for Lily on February 10th (when ticket info comes along I'll fill you all in) and there have been a few dates that have shown up on TicketMaster but for some reason have been taken down. Those dates are:

2/3 - Los Angeles (Henry Fonda Theater)
2/12 - Philadephia (Theater of Living Arts)
2/18 - Boston (Axis)

Also, Lily will be releasing her Double A side for Alfie/Shame For You in the UK on March 5th (which you can of course purchase on import) . She will be doing Saturday Night Live with Drew Barrymore hosting on February 3rd (guessing that is why the LA gig was canceled).

Here is another installment of the great Lily promos done for Discover and Download...this time Lily talks about her lovely boob picture on the internet

I don't think its ever ending for Lily...

Bobby Gillespie Says No To Late Music

According to NME.com, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream has joined a campaign with his neighbours to ban a local pub extending its hours because they play loud music late into the night.

"There was a live percussionist playing along with the records, the sound was of a very high frequency which reverberated into my bedroom and my children's bedroom. I found the repetitiveness disturbing and I was unable to sleep because of it," states a letter apparently written by Gillespie.

Gillespie also added that a licence extension would mean that the pub was "disturbing the peace of our beautiful street and attracting noisy, drunk people to our area leaving the premises or coming into the area looking for a late-night drink - who are incidentally just [as loud] if not louder than the music being played".

I guess thats what happens when you have kids? Now I know if my local pub was blasting Xterminator I'd have a bit of a problem if I was trying to sleep...

Noel Gallagher Starts Up His Feud With Robbie Williams Again

Noel Gallagher loves a bit of drama to go on in he press at all times and he's chosen a target once again thats close to his heart; Robbie Williams. This time around Noel has braded his music "dog shit" and comes from the organizers of the BRIT Awards not nominating Robbie for his latst release, "Rudebox".

Noel raged to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "As he tends to refer to himself in the third person, Robbie Williams is obviously a character that he's invented and the music he makes is f***ing dog s**t. And I think even Robbie would probably agree with that."

The best part about it all is Oasis are accepting the prestigious Outstanding Contribution To Music Award so this time around Robbie REALLY has nothing to say.

Arcade Fire To Play In A School Cafeteria

Arcade Fire are set to play in Canterbury High School in Ottawa for an impromptu performance only for students. The school happens to be where Richard Reed Parry was a student a few years back so the location is a pretty crafty way of giving back to the community.

All the ticket sales will benefit Canterbury Arts Centre Development Association and tickets are priced at $25 (Canadian) which will only be sold during school lunch hour.

This sounds like a talent show to me...but I really really wish I could be at that talent show.

Neon Bible comes out March 6 on Merge Records in the US.

Lily Allen Can Never Turn Down A Good Hot Dog

These Discover and Download commericials are absolutely genius.

Way to go MTV for actually doing something creative with an artist that isn't Fergie or the Pussycat Dolls. Two thumbs up!

Here is Lily chowing on a Pink's hot dog in LA...and not giving a fuck how many calories it has.

There are quite a few Lily promos in this Discover and Download series...and i think I might post them ALL so keep checking back.

Kylie Minogue Postpones UK Shows

Poor Kylie! Half way through her show at the Manchester Evening News Arena on the Showgirl tour last night she had to cut her set short because of a bad bout of the flu.

Ths was her second out of 6 shows in the city after a successful run in London.

A spokesperson announced, "Kylie is suffering flu, as are other members of the tour group, including her manager. It is not linked to her breast cancer."

Get well soon Kylie...and come to America!

I'm From Rolling Shit

I finally caught an episode of I'm From Rolling Stone, the new reality show where several lucky aspiring young writers have the opportunity to have an internship with Rolling Stome magazine. The winner of the compeitition gets a position at the magazine after everything is said and done.

Amazing opportunity right? I would think so. Apparently these asshole kids that are participating don't. I couldn't believe how shit they all were.

Let's start with Colin, the kid interviewing We Are Scientsts. First off, he could barely speak to the band. It was like he was starstruck and stuttering his words. Now, if you are a journalist at Rolling Stone I would think that even if you are interviewing Michael Jackson, you walk in with confidence and make the person you are interviewing feel comfortable. It was almost like WAS were interviewing him.

Next, the kid who interviewed Ghostface Killah casually asked "Who's going to replace ODB?" for a Wu Tang reunion...and Ghostface got visibly annoyed. Then the same kid asks Nelly Furtado for an autograph and a picture when she came up to the magazine for lunch and proceeds to say "I promise I won't touch you in inappropriate places" loud enough for Joe Levy (editor of Roling Stone) to hear.

I could go on and on about what fucking idiots these kids are. I hope you enjoyed this...

Pete Doherty = The New Justin Timberlake?

Ok...maybe I am pushing it but Pete pulled a JT with the paparazzi the other night after his gig in London at Dublin's Castle. Attacking one photographer with his guitar and sending them both into trash bins, he went mental on both of them.

In the crowd were Amy Winehouse looking like a B Rate Elvira (sorry Amy you know I love you but what were you thinking?!) and Sadoe Frost.

Here is Amy looking like Elvira

and Sadie Frost looking like she had the time of her life

and Pete Doherty looking...like Pete
